Coach education

Andy Patterson has been a qualified coach educator and assessor since 2007 spending the years since then teaching coaches for British Cycling as well as producing coaching manuals for sports governing bodies and been a regional coach mentor in Taranaki for Cycling NZ. Andy participates in professional development work with district council providers and with local sports clubs. The coaching process has moved on considerably over the past 15 years and Andy has ensured he has kept his knowledge current working with coaching Gurus as part of the British Cycling and Cycling NZ coach development program and with partnerships across sports disciplines. This knowledge is passed on during consultation work that allows teacher, coaches and volunteers to be better at ensuring learning in fun environments that have risk and reward scenarios, reducing time frames and contextual interference, that produce more adaptable long term skill learning over short term gains.
